Dorty’s impressive marketing savvy and journalism background will translate to new business for firms seeking an upswing in market share. After earning an undergraduate degree from Montclair University, Dorty studied at the Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris before joining CBS News as a research associate for 60 Minutes.
Arriving in Honolulu in 2001, she managed advertising accounts briefly as an executive assistant at the Honolulu Star-Bulletin before joining the highly regarded Star Seigle advertising agency. There, she conducted research and assisted with the development of budgets, presentations and marketing plans.
Recruited in 2003 by The Honolulu Advertiser as its Assistant Director of Special Projects, Dorty managed teams of content producers, conducting research, editing, and marketing. Her exceptional combination of skill sets led to many publishing awards for her division.
Dorty in 2006 joined Coast Magazine in Newport Beach, Calif. As the publication’s marketing manager, she was responsible for online promotion, special events, vendor exhibits, and target marketing.
